Many parents understandably worry that their child may have a sinister cause for their headaches, like brain tumours or brain injuries. These “secondary” causes of headaches are relatively less common, but for obvious reasons, it is very important to assess for, and rule out them out.
More commonly, headaches in all age groups are caused by primary headache disorders like migraines and tension type headaches, which can become intrusive and debilitating when left untreated.
